Graduate Scholarships

Fitzwilliam College offers two fully-funded Studentships, which can be used as part of the financial guarantee required by the Board of Graduate Studies (University Graduate Admissions).

In addition, there are a number of College Scholarships, which are available to students who have received an unconditional offer of a place from Fitzwilliam.

The College also has travel funding and maintenance bursaries, full details of which are on the 'Fees and Funding' pages.

Fully-Funded and Full Maintenance Awards - All Subjects

Application for the Fitzwilliam Studentship and the Fitzwilliam PhD Studentship is now available online. The College will use the references submitted with the University application (GradSAF). Applicants must have a conditional offer from the University of Cambridge before they will be considered for the award and are therefore advised to submit their University application before the end of December to allow time for it to be fully processed before the College deadline

A note about personal statements -  All the Scholarship applications require a short personal statement. Awards are made on academic grounds, taking into account the referee statements and your qualifications/grades of course. The application materials uploaded with your University application will  be available to the reviewers. Your personal statement is also important. It needs to address specifically your reasons for (a) applying for the particular course (i.e. your future plans and career asprirations) and (b) applying to Fitzwilliam College (i.e. what your future involvement might be in College).Unless this is clear elsewhere in the application, it is also always helpful to know how critical it is (financially) that you receive this (additional?) funding. In the case of awards that require you to be already fully funded before you apply (such as ED Davies Scholarship) your statement can include suggestions of how the extra funding will be used.
