Telephone Fundraising Campaign
Over the last eight years over 1,600 of you have generously pledged more than £1.2 million through the annual telephone fundraising campaign, which has made a real and measurable difference to Fitzwilliam’s students. Thank you for your support.
The 2017 telephone campaign will run from Monday 20th March to Monday 3rd April, during which time the student callers will speak to hundreds of alumni.
The donations made will go towards the Bursary Fund and Teaching Fund, helping Fitzwilliam to fulfil its goal of encouraging students from all backgrounds to apply to Cambridge, and assisting them financially when they are here.
The Bursary Fund eases the financial burden on students who need extra support, allowing them to make the most of the academic and extra-curricular opportunities Cambridge offers, regardless of their background. All donations are distributed within the year received, meaning that gifts have an immediate impact, and a regular donation allows us to plan for future provision.
The Teaching Fund supports the College’s teaching load, ensuring that our students continue to receive supervisions led by world-leading academics. Each year Fitzwilliam undergraduates benefit from a combined total of around 20,000 hours of small-group teaching delivered by more than 900 supervisors.
We look forward to speaking to many more alumni in the 2017 telephone campaign, and as in previous years we will write to everyone who we are planning to call, providing information about the campaign and giving them the opportunity to let us know if they’d prefer not to be contacted.
