The Research Project

You will be required to work on a research project as part of the programme. Your academic course instructor will offer you a selection of topics from which to choose your individual project. You will write a 900-word essay and prepare a 10-minute presentation on your chosen research questions. Don’t panic, you will get plenty of support to get started with your independent work on your project. Your academic course instructor will offer a guided presentation and essay writing session to help you frame your ideas and identify different angles from which you can explore your field. You will be expected to spend a minimum of 8h of independent work on your project during the second week of the programme. You will present your research to your peers and course instructor on the last day of the programme, and receive detailed, constructive feedback from your course instructor to help you further your academic excellence.

Participants who performed the best in their research project will receive special award certificates. The top two essays from each course will be published in the FitzEd Summer School Journal on our website. Check out our past journals where you can read the award-winning essays written by previous FitzEd alumni.
