The University adopted the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism in full and with clarifications recommended by the Home Affairs Select Committee in 2016 (to protect freedom of speech) at a meeting of the General Board on 4 November 2020.

On 3 March 2021, Fitzwilliam College Governing Body formally approved the adoption of the same, including the clarifications.
