Profile

Having studied Law with French Law at Oxford University, I completed my LLM by Research at the University of Dundee. I then moved to Cambridge, initially to teach land law for the Department of Land Economy, and then to complete my PhD. My thesis concerns interpretation of environmental offences. My wider research interests include environmental law generally, and also property law. I am particularly interested in issues surrounding registered land and the public face of property law. I have been Director of Studies in Land Economy at Fitzwilliam since January 2014, and very much enjoy teaching on the undergraduate law papers in the department.

Research and teaching

My research interests are centred around property and environmental law, although this inevitably touches on other areas, such as equity and trusts, public law, and European law. My thesis concerns interpretation of environmental offences and I am interested in the interaction between environmental and criminal law. I am also particularly focused on registered land. I teach constitutional law, land law, and landlord and tenant law, as well as supervising environmental law dissertations.
