Deborah became a Bye Fellow at Fitzwilliam in July 2024, and supports the Development team in their fundraising work. 

She has over 20 years of fundraising experience in the higher education and health sectors, with a focus on building long-term relationships with donors, alumni, and partners. Deborah led and delivered two campaigns for St Catharine’s College, Cambridge, where she served for 15 years as a Fellow and Director of Development, making major contributions to the growth of the endowment, funds for teaching posts, and for buildings. 

As Chair of the Cambridge Colleges Development Group and Directors Group, she represented the interests and views of our 31 colleges in development matters, and collaborated with the University’s Development and Alumni Relations Office.

Deborah retired from her role at St Catharine’s in April 2023, having achieved the ambitious goal of raising £65 million.
