Dr Anke Arentsen is a Research Fellow of Fitzwilliam College, and a Herchel Smith Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute of Astronomy. Her research is in the field of Galactic Archaeology: the study of the formation history of the Milky Way. Her work focuses on identifying and characterising the oldest stars still alive in the Milky Way to learn about the earliest phases of star and galaxy formation in the Universe.
