My research interests are in the interdisciplinary area of twentieth-century music and philosophy.
I have worked for the most part with Continental philosophy - the Frankfurt School, Sartre and Heidegger - but I am increasingly interested in the intersections between the Continental and Analytical traditions.
I am currently working on the post-Wittgensteinian language-game theories of Wilfrid Sellars and Jean-François Lyotard, and their application in the analysis of artistic practices. In terms of teaching, I am supervising nineteenth- and twentieth-century music topics.
