Peter O’Connor is Director of Development at Fitzwilliam College Cambridge. Before joining Fitzwilliam in June 2021, Peter was Head of Development (Asia) at Imperial College London, and before this held several fundraising positions in Collegiate Oxford. Peter read Theology at St. Peter’s College, Oxford.

Peter is responsible for development at Fitzwilliam and works together with the Director of Communications and Engagement to oversee the College’s Alumni Relations. Working closely with the Master and Bursar, Peter leads on the College’s work to secure transformational philanthropic gifts and he also manages the Development Office team. He is grateful for the generosity of alumni and friends to Fitzwilliam which helps to support students, enhance teaching and research, and to renew and improve the physical fabric of the College. Peter is currently working on an ambitious strategy to significantly grow philanthropic support for Fitzwilliam in the years ahead.

Together with the Development Office team, Peter welcomes conversations with alumni and friends who would like to support Fitzwilliam College Cambridge.

In his spare time, Peter's enthusiasm for long-distance running is tempered by his long-suffering support of Fulham Football Club.
